"What we want for your children . . . we should want for their teachers;
that schools be places of learning for both of them,
and that such learning be suffused with excitement,
engagement, passion, challenge, creativity and joy."

Parent: please have your Judson student complete the following surverys. Their input into their Judson experience will help us refine and improve for the 2013-2014 school year. Thank you in advance.
Judson’s Accelerated Reader program continues to reach new heights! As of April 24th, our students have read over 14,000 books and 30,000,000 words this year. Have you noticed the “widget” at the bottom left of this page? This gives a running total of our progress.
Three of our students are to be recognized April 27th at the BOOK BREAK held at the Shreveport Convention Center. Judson’s Top Three readers as of now are: Korrie Vosley, Shamyia Sweet, and Aniyah Timmons! They will be recognized and given an award, as well as meet and shake hands with famous author and illustrator, James Ransome. Congratulations on a job well done, girls!
The last day to test for AR Star awards will be May 10th. At that time, we will decide who is the top reader for each grade. These students will be taken to lunch at Strawn’s Eat Shop Too and shopping at Barnes & Noble on May 14th. The homeroom from each grade that accumulated the most AR points for the entire year will be treated to an Ice Cream Sundae party by the principal.
Thank you for your support of our AR program this year. Don’t forget our last book fair will be held May 20th through May 23rd! All profits will help fund our AR program!
Dear Judson Family,
What an amazing year we are having! Judson is just “getting it done!” Our Motto – “Excellence in Education is our #1 Goal” is being lived up to daily. Excitement for student growth and learning permeates our building and our students are flourishing. Academically, we are most pleased with our students who consistently make the Principal’s List and Honor Roll. We are thrilled by the students who are maintaining Perfect Attendance! Our teachers and staff are the best with instruction as well as volunteering to ensure that students have a well-rounded learning experience. Our PTA is active and involved with our school and we appreciate the continuous service they provide. Our community partners have been another important part of our success and their assistance is greatly appreciated.
Together we have been and will continue to achieve more for our students. Thank you for being a part of our success.
Yours in Education,
Dr. Karon Rankin-Manning
